Thanks for putting these together, Tim. All look like very interesting topics.
There's also a list of topics available here, a few of which we've done now.
Personally I'd like to do something on Gender and Identity next, connected in some ways to this discussion. But we ought to decide together what we take on next.
Also I think we're starting to get overdue with some time to talk over as a community where we're at with Table Talk in general - how it's working for us, what's not working, what could be done better, structure, involement/participation of everyone in the discussions, etc.
I for one am particularly alarmed that - and I'm aware that is a generalisation - at most of the discussions the dominant voices are male, and the women, in general, don't participate much. And I know that frequently many people feel that the discussions are flying over their heads, which I think is a big problem. If that is the experience of a sizeable number of people in the community, which I think it is, I don't think Table Talk is working for the community as it ought to/could do - it may well be working for some be people, but if others are feeling alienated then it's a problem we need to talk over together, I'd say.
What I'm saying is that I think we need a time before the next Table Talk, and probably before we decide the topic for the next one, to all sit down together and assess where we're at with Table Talk.
