slightly political style feedback as it's International Women's Day today...(day of solidarity amongst women world wide for issues of equality/ body politic/ political sufference at not being given same protection under law/ women feel and see things differently express things differently ...something beyond gender definements there is a Salvation message here for both men and women I see these issues as fundamental stories of peace waiting to be made peace stories by the church is the church part of the problem or part of the solution? Is there a GOSPEL Call in there?) I'm about to go off and be a women's peacenik in London...
well my story born of politics..., gender issues these issues are of importance to the women's movement... on a truelly visceral level not just conceptual or wordforms ....once we got it in our heads? no it was obvious all along we just didn't dare tell anyone... or ourselves..... and when we begin suddenly to realise our thoughts our feelings our experiences have voices and words the world looks different and has a place too for us.... but it's not just about our experience of oppression it's also about we have something different to say because we are
my story is being born again as a woman in my late twenties.. I have to say I wasn't overly keen first time round...
when I discovered feminism...it was a shock... things that you've been staring at for years but not seen? but things that once I knew things I understood but was pushed away to the back of consciousness without words from and by everyone by men by women all colluding in this big denial ..of self ..suddenly things were made plain... seen sight what was happening around ... once I was aware I could never again see the world as it was taught said coerced to be seen... who claims our view of identity?
the journey of the voyage of truth of self .. the empathic journey of voices and stories is my idea and notion of my own gender identity
since then being a woman is something I treasure... but it's something else from what I see in women's faces struggles the silences the not being valued for who they really are the contribution they can make that not fitting (or being crushed out) into (or from) a man's world actually has something to say for all of us not just about the oppression but what are the alternatives? In Christ I seek..
GOD BLESS!
Peace and Love,
