Great that you've signed up, bud. Nice one!
Yeah, there's loads more going on now than there has been in the past. One thing I'm trying to do is keep a blog for us here in Birmingham going on a regular basis. We've been watching the BBC TV series The Monastery together on video the last few weeks, which is why there's so many posts on it on the site.
Maybe a blog for you in Exeter would be a good place to start...? You can submit blog entries by click in on the create content link in the navigation in the top of the left column (or create content here) and select the personal blog entry link to create a new blog entry. It looks much like adding an item to the forum, but it's handled differently by the system (like creating an RSS feed for your blog, for example).
With your blog entry you can specify the 'path alias', which is the URL for each page. I'd recommend you put something in here 'cause otherwise you get the ugly system URL. All the blogs are available at www.peacechurch.org.uk/blog/, so, by convention, I've been marking mine as www.peacechurch.org.uk/blog/joe/[today's date] and i've written the date as [year][month][day] so my blog entry today is at www.peacechurch.org.uk/blog/joe/051005. You might like to do /blog/drew/[date] or /blog/exeter/[date] or something...? Does that make any sense at all?
